Bianca Strauch–Freytag lives and works in Blankenese, Hamburg. For more than three decades she worked as an internationally published and award-winning graphic designer and runs the design studio Mjam Mjam with her husband, Frank Maximilian Freytag.

Her ceramic work is defined by reduced, geometric forms and a deep engagement with material presence. Inspired by traditional glazing techniques from Japan and China, she works exclusively with an electric kiln in oxidation firing, exploring limitation as an integral part of the process.

In her ceramics, she investigates the balance between control and unpredictability, order and variation. Each piece carries the quiet authority of objects shaped by fire, surface, and time.
